This peaceful little meadow is located on the Monterville Road, in Randolph County, WV. The entire area is a mountain plateau where you can see for miles. The second picture is from the same area and displays the mountain vista range. You can see a communication tower in the second picture. Not sure who's up there to communicate!
Looking forward to the next trip to the WV high country. Maybe we'll see a bear this trip. Haven't had a Black Bear sighting yet this summer...
The first shot was taken as dusk approached. It was fairly cold with temperatures in the 40's, so I had the chance to use my "Cam Ranger", a blue tooth network attachment that let me sit in the truck and control my camera from the warm cab across the road. The downside was a couple of cars that passed by and kicked up some dust. Of course, the lens caught some dust so I had to work a few unnatural spots of the skyline and horizon. Overall, the Cam Ranger is a piece of tech I plan to keep in my comfort-minded exploration of wild places and cold and hot spaces!
